Understanding
spiritual warfare means recognizing concepts Paul in particular
identifies in the Old Testament and uses in his letters.
Most Christians are familiar with the idea of the Church being
the body of Christ, but the concept of a collective oneness
is found in the OT;
Exo 4:22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the
LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:
Exo 4:23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may
serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay
thy son, even thy firstborn.
And indeed
Jdg 20:11 So all the men of Israel were gathered against the
city, knit together as one man.
So common purpose and agreement in the natural has a
corresponding and deeper unity in the second heaven.
We see that in Daniel where nations have - that is say are,
Princes.
Dan 10:20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto
thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia:
and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
On another level the demon entity called legion wasn't one
but many spiritual beings
Luk 8:30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And
he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
Knowing your enemy is more often than not a corporation and
not a single entity is important, sometimes people engage in
spiritual warfare and become frustrated because it feels like a
game of "whack-a-mole" that's because we're more often than not
dealing with more than one spiritual entity acting together.
What is most important is knowing who you are as a believer
in Christ - there is power in the name of Jesus and authority in
the blood of Jesus.
2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are
become new.
2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us
to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of
reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the
world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and
hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2Co 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though
God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye
reconciled to God.
2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no
sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Spiritual warfare is reconciliation, as odd as the might
first sound.
Remember the faith of the Roman Centurion?
Mat 8:8 And the centurion answering said, 'Sir, I am not
worthy that thou mayest enter under my roof, but only say a
word, and my servant shall be healed;
Experiencing the power and authority of the name and blood
of Jesus Christ in ending a sleep paralysis experience and in
other kinds of spiritual warfare is my testimony, and that of a
great many others, because in his body and blood we are God's
righteousness, and we command the demonic to go to the place God
has prepared for them from the worlds foundation, inviting the
Holy Spirit to take their place - this is reconciliation because
all things are be gathered together in Christ.
Eph 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he
might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which
are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him
And this is purpose of good works of God which are give to
the elect to walk in.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should
walk in them.
And yes most certainly, "Our God is a consuming Fire" (Heb
12:29)
