Eden Valley
These are lines of magnetic power that surround the whole earth. People with a raised spiritual perception and a connection with the earth can sense them; they can also be detected by dowsing.
If you get hold of an old Ordnance Survey map and place a long straight edge, you can find them by spotting three or more ancient sites — churches, stone circles, burial mounds — on a straight line. The ancient mystics divined where these lines crossed, and that point would become a sacred spot where a stone circle would be built or prominent persons would be buried. These places would be where celebration of the seasons would take place, with stones arranged to mark the time, summer solstice and so on.
Later, when Christianity came to these lands, churches were often built on the site of a stone circle. That is why you can find churches standing some distance from the village and community. There was already an established church in England when Augustine landed, and he was met by members of that church. A prime example is St Ninian's Church at Brougham, known locally as Ninekirks.
You will often find the remains of the stone circle in the boundary walls of the church.
Crop circles are formed on the intersection of the ley lines. The circle is not formed by a flying saucer from above but by earth energy from below. I have seen an example of this energy in action.
Some years ago when farming we had a Roman fort on the land and had many requests by metal detectorists to walk the site. Only a select few were allowed. One was Ted Seaton, who became famous in finding the Middleham Jewel. He used a map of the area and a dowsing method over the farm. He picked a field that had not been visited before and went out at night. He returned from his detecting quite shaken and showed me his detector. The stem had twisted 90 degrees; his metal torch was also twisted. He said as he crossed this spot he felt a tremendous pull on his detector. He was sensitive to this and he knew what had happened. He had crossed an intersection of the Lines. There was not a standing crop in that field, but I am sure if there had been we would have had a crop circle.
It is because the idea of ley lines is bordering on the esoteric that scientific approaches become sceptical. However, as time passes we have seen how the esoteric and science are drawing closer together as we enter the quantum age.
